“My mind won’t slow down!”
Here is something I have been asked that is representative of so many people that I thought I would include it here:
I bought a cd of yours and my mind is way to busy to accept self hypnosis. If I was hypnotised by a professional would it help?
And here is my answer:
It MIGHT help if you find a hypnotist you really TRUST … for that is key! But ALL hypnosis is SELF hypnosis … and it’s much more about “practice” than it is some magic touch that they will have for you. What happens when you’re in a professional’s office is that your distractions are removed, so it automatically feels different and you’re more “receptive.” It might be just as valuable for you to simply find that safe “place” where you can relax and let go in your own possibility of settings … even if it means outdoors!
But … don’t be too quick to judge that you’re not already beginning to “accept” the self-hypnosis with what you’ve done so far. Hypnosis is very subtle! It may help you if you try to practice it early in the morning before your mind starts to jump into overdrive, or late at night when your mind is tired! But do the “purging” on paper that I mentioned before you ever begin, and then simply keep practicing. You might be amazed at how you somehow get from where you are now to where you can get later.
Don’t give up on your mind so quickly … it’s smarter than you think! [smile]
